Putting an ipod on sefarim

Actually, one of my Rebbeim told me that he felt the discussion of placing seforim on top of each other only applies to kisvei kodesh (w/klaf etc...) and that our seforim can be placed on the floor if we want.

Yeah, I mean, there was one guy a couple of years ago who wrote a whole sefer about "kavod li'sfarim" and such, but I thought his "psakim" were far too stringent and not very well sourced.

..but I mean, putting them on top of each other and putting them on the floor are two different things.

...thinking about it now, I'm coming to the conclusion that I can't make any intelligent response to your comment without doing a bit more research on the subject.

..I would like to know what your Rebbi's source is though (I think I've heard that opinion before).

So, must you put on ipod in shaimos? and do you kiss it when it falls on the floor?

Ha. If it only has Torah in it I suppose both should be true. ..I mean the very idea that ink writings on cow hides should be treated with such respect is also somewhat of a "technological chiddush", as mentioned..
